FADE IN:

EXT. PARK – DAY.

Spring. The flowers bloom and the grass is cut. Birds CHIRP in the trees. A WOMAN (35) sits on a bench reading a book, wearing a large brimmed hat. A BOY (8) plays fetch with his DOG. The boy tosses his Frisbee and the dog catches the toy in his mouth.

On the third toss, the dog jumps in the air to receive the disk, but a HAWK intercepts the Frisbee. The hawk flies off to a nearby oak tree.

In the tree, the hawk makes a nest. It gathers twigs and leaves. The dog BARKS at the hawk from the base of the tree. The hawk taunts the dog with funny faces.

The dog climbs the tree. The hawk tosses sticks and acorns at the dog hitting the dog on the nose. The dog continues to climb the tree. The hawk turns around and poises to do its business on the dog.

The dog snatches the Frisbee from under the hawk. The hawk flips in the air and recovers itself. The hawk grabs the other side of the Frisbee with its talons. The hawk and the dog play tug-of-war over the Frisbee.

The hawk’s MATE returns and joins in the tug. All three pull at once. Their grips fail. The Frisbee flies in the air and falls to the ground.

The boy catches the Frisbee as it falls. He tosses the Frisbee away from the tree. The dog jumps from the branch and pursues the disk, BARKING.

The hawks frown.

WOMAN (O.S.)
Come on son, time to go home.

The woman, the boy, and the dog all walk away from the park. The hawks see the woman’s large brimmed hat. They grin. They fly to the woman, one on each side, and grab her hat. The hawks fly off.
